Cary, North Carolina

Stephen King’s Carrie may give you creeps, but not this Cary. It’s one of the safest places in the United States. The hot summers and cold winters shouldn’t stop you from moving into Cary. There are more reasons to live here than anywhere else in North Carolina.

Why it’s safe to live in Cary: The city boasts a rate of 69 crimes for every 100,000 people. That’s almost 6 times lower than the national average! Even more amazing is the fact that Cary is a fast-growing city. For a place with more than 150,000 people, it’s impressive that it managed to stay safe.

Cary’s extremely low crime rate is brought about by several factors. Among these are low poverty rates, high incomes, high educational attainments, and the surge in employment. The city has a poverty rate of 5.5 percent – the fourth lowest in the United States. An average household income of about $89,000 every year is more than what you would get if you lived in other cities. More than 60 percent of the residents have graduated from college or acquired a doctorate. Jobs in Information and Technology are always available within Cary and in neighboring cities.

Cary is home to some of the best public schools in the nation. It’s no college town, but it is close to several colleges. Nature lovers wouldn’t be disappointed since the city has its own forests complete with trails and recreational centers.
