About 60 percent of adults aged 25 years and older graduated from college and at least 92 percent of the entire population has a high school diploma. The average household earns close to $100,000 every year and there are plenty of jobs available in locally-based tech companies. Sunnyvale is part of Silicon Valley after all. The city also has one of the lowest poverty rates at 7.3 percent, which explains the low incidence of crime.
Sunnyvale is made safer by its unified public safety system. It’s one of the few cities in the U.S. where all public safety employees are trained with the skills of a police officer, firefighter, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). This means that they are capable of responding to any emergency including crimes, fires, and medical needs.
