London, England
It’s a city that captivates with enchanting sights but would leave you hanging on the edge, begging for more. There’s always something new to see and do in London depending on the time of the year.
River Thames is more than just a witness to London’s history. The waterway played an integral role in the development of the English capital. For centuries, city landmarks were built one after another near its banks, turning the river into a gateway to some of London’s top attractions. One of these riverside attractions is the Hampton Court Palace where a sizeable number of works from the Royal Collection are displayed. The Hampton Court Maze in the gardens attracts curious crowds.
Kew Palace is another Thames River attraction you should visit. Despite its humble size, the manor and its surrounding gardens make up for it in beauty. A bridge sounds like an unlikely attraction by the river, but wait until you see the Tower Bridge. Its remarkable Gothic Architecture will put all other bridges to shame.
London has a plethora of museums and art galleries but there’s only three you shouldn’t miss. The British Museum is the place to go for historical artefacts from prehistoric to modern times. The National Gallery in Trafalgar Square is where you will find Western European art spanning from the 13th to 19th century. The Natural History Museum is excellent for kids with its large displays of rare and extinct animals such as dinosaurs.
